Utilizing the beauty and intensity of the outdoors as the stage, Xstream will challenge men physically, emotionally and spiritually to become men of integrity. Xstream is a mentorship program to challenge and equip men to radically transform their lives through their relationship with Jesus Christ.
StreetLight Xstream Program Overview
Xstream will utilize the outdoors as a classroom and tool to help develop men of integrity to fulfill the plan for which God created them. It will challenge each student physically, emotionally and spiritually. Every aspect of a man's life will be scrutinized relative to its effect on their future. Students will be required to participate and complete work to participate in Xstream adventures and continue in the program. Random drug testing will be conducted.
The program will be broken into four years with four sessions in each year. All students must be
selected to participate after the successful completion of a pre-program phase.
Students must complete work and requirements prior to advancing to the next sessions. Students
who do not complete work and requirements are choosing not to advance to the next session. Students
who do not choose to advance may reapply for readmission. While it is our goal for every student to
complete the Xstream Program we realize that some students may choose not to continue for a variety
of reasons.
The winter, spring and summer sessions will conclude with a weekend Xstream adventure. The
year will conclude with a weeklong trip, which will be held in the fall. The activities of each session
and the year will teach the student skills they will need for the Xstream adventure. Students who do
not complete activities are choosing not to go on the Xstream adventure. In most cases the student will
not be able to advance to the next session.
Physical Challenge - We will utilize the outdoors in every aspect of this
training. This will include where ever possible hosting discussions out doors and training on outdoors
skills. Outdoor sports will include but not be limited to hiking, climbing, canoeing, kayaking, camping,
orienteering, survival, first aid, weather, food preparation and storage. These skills will be demonstrated
in every season and weather condition.
Emotional Challenge - We will utilize a number of books for discussion
emphasizing how men overcame extreme challenges in their lives.
Spiritual Challenge - The Bible will be studied to mentor men to become
godly servant leaders.
