Sonny has been a part of the StreetLight family since 2004. After years of abuse from his father, Sonny left home at the age of 12 to live on the streets of New York City. When old enough, he enlisted in the Marines and served our country for 2 ½ tours in Vietnam. He came home wounded and addicted to morphine. This led to over forty years of heroin abuse, post traumatic stress and an unmanageable life estranged from his family. One night shortly after meeting Sonny he ran up to us saying, "I want the whole deal, I want Jesus." That night Sonny accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. His road since then has had more than its shares of ups and downs. Today he continues to get help to deal with the trauma he has experienced. Sonny is on the road to recovery and is now reunited with his family. Best of all he knows God loves him!
