On Saturday, May 21, 2011, bicycle riders will set off across New Jersey on a journey to bring hope to those
in need. Streetlight's second annual ride will begin and end at Evangel Church located at 1251 Terrill Road,
Scotch Plains, NJ.
Riders will embark on 100, 62, 45, 24 or 5 mile rides. Cyclists will
enjoy scenic views from Union to Hunterdon County. The beautiful routes are designed to be fun for the casual riders
as well as challenging for those competitive riders. All the routes will have rest stops that will be stocked with water,
energy drinks, fresh fruit and sandwiches, and portable facilities. There will also be roaming SAG vehicles.
This year we’ve added two walking routes for those participants who wish to keep their feet on the ground. They will
walk through the scenic Scotch Plains and the historic Sleepy Hollow neighborhoods.
Everyone will return to a home style barbecue featuring fresh fruit, amazing salads, grilled chicken, hamburgers, and
hot dogs. The fun continues with supervised children's activities and four hours of live music.
Through their efforts our participants’ fundraising will allow Streetlight Mission to continue to help those in need
by providing support services such as food, clothing and substance abuse programs.
The ride / walk schedule: Century Riders will depart between 7 and 7:30 AM.
Metric Century Riders will depart at 8 AM.
45 Mile Riders will depart at 9 AM.
24 Mile Riders will depart at 10 AM.
Family Fun Riders and All Walkers can depart at any time after 11:30 AM.
Plan to spend the day. It would be a shame to miss the food and fun.
